Now you can Too Good to be Truman (The Truman Files Book 1) with detailed description:YOU NEVER HAD MONEY TROUBLE LIKE THIS
When unemployed crime reporter Harry Truman gets a note from a local mission thanking him for his generous contribution--to the tune of a half million dollars--he's reasonably certain he had nothing to do with it.
Internal Revenue Service agent Marion Russell wants nothing more than to make a name for himself with his employers. (Well, and to spend more time with his show dog.) Agent Russell is certain that Truman has some undeclared source of income--and will go to any bizarre lengths to prove it.
Meanwhile, record label owner Buddy Powell has found that his latest marketing scheme-- stage a fake kidnapping of country music sensation Darla Lovell--isn't working out as planned. His fixit men, Sherman Clayton and "Bull" Ron Taylor, have bungled the job, and now the fake-kidnapping has turned into the real thing. But what happened to the money?
FBI Special Agents Murphy and Reed are heading an investigation into the kidnapping. The demands were met, the money was dropped--but the girl is still missing. And Murphy is certain that Truman must have something to do with it.
All these oddballs collide in a tale of poor planning, miscommunication, and greed. Now, Truman has got to figure out who stuck him with this halo if he doesn't want to get fitted with prison stripes--or a harp and wings...

Q&A with author CHRIS WELL
========================
01. What inspired you to write TOO GOOD TO BE TRUMAN?
I'll be honest: I started with a funny idea for a book title. And then I had three funny book titles for a trilogy. And then the plot for the third book hit me and I loved it so much that I had to do it...but since it was clearly the third title, that meant I had to work backward and figure out who this man is and why these things happen to him that would lead to that mess in the third book.
So this is the first book. And the first mess. To be followed by subsequent books. And subsequent messes.
02. Who would you get to play Truman in a movie?
Two actors I can see playing "obnoxious but charming" would be James Roday (PSYCH) or Zach Braff (SCRUBS), though I'm not sure either of them is actually old enough yet for the part. But if Hollywood should ask again in another five or ten years...
03. You've written shoot-em-up crime thrillers and cozy detective mysteries. Where does TOO GOOD TO BE TRUMAN fit in the continuum of your fiction?
On the one end, the Kansas City Blues crime series has guns and car chases and fisticuffs—and then, on the other end, the Earl Walker mysteries are classic whodunits in the traditional mold. Truman probably fits squarely in the middle. He's sort of wading through a crazy mystery while trying not to get beat up (much) and getting chased by both members of law enforcement and bad guys.
04. Truman is a jerk—but readers seem to love him. How does he compare to your previous protagonists?
He is, without a doubt, the most obnoxious character I have ever written as the lead in a story. At the same time, this was the first novel I ever wrote that had zero input from anyone on the outside—no editors, no contractual expectations, nobody to second-guess me. So what does that say about me?
05. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Batman. In the first grade, I was under the mistaken impression that "Batman" was somehow an occupation just like "policeman" or "fireman." I was crushed when my teacher explained the difference.
